Celebrate Earth Day 2011 with Second Chances
By reusing and recycling your clothing, Second Chances diverts more 60,000 pounds of apparel from landfill each year. We recycle all plastic and paper bags from donations, and most clothing that is not in wearable condition is sent to recyclers and processed for things like futon stuffing and car mats. This Earth Day, help the environment and others in our community:
Earth Day Clothing Drive, Activities and Giveaways (Cambridge)
Join our friends at Whole Foods Market, 340 River Street, Cambridge this Friday, April 22, 2011, for a day filled with Earth Day fun - free coffee to anyone who brings in a reusable coffee mug from 9 to 10 a.m., a clothing drive to support our work, a raffle and other giveaways, activities, and much more. Our clothing donation bin is in the covered garage, at the end of the recycling center. It is accessible during store hours, when the garage is open. Map it »

Extra appreciation goes out to our great friends at Virgin HealthMiles in Framingham who collected and delivered 15 large bags of clothing, shoes and accessories in March and early April, and our wonderful supporters at C.R. Bard in Woburn who collected 173 pounds in early April. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and regular support for our work.
