March 2010 News and Events

Second Chances Turns 5
Celebrate with us! We are as happy as a five-year-old for what we have collectively accomplished since 2005. Thank you for all that you have done to help us reach this day. Please help Second Chances celebrate five years of providing free clothing for people in need in our community and support our dream of serving even more people during our sixth year:

Happy Spring
I couldn’t be happier that spring is finally here! This winter, clothing donations to Second Chances were lower than in past winters, so there was less clothing and a narrower selection of apparel for the people we serve. I hope that spring will motivate more people to clean out their closets and drawers and donate to Second Chances, so that we will have more clothing and a better selection of apparel for our clients, as they begin along the path to positive outcomes and success in their own lives. This spring you can donate clothing at one of our public clothing drives or at our clothing donation bins. Details »

April Public Clothing Drive (South Station area, Boston)
Celebrate Earth Day, tax day and the arrival of spring by donating clothing, shoes and accessories at The NonProfit Center's public clothing drive. South Station area, April 13 to 30, 2010. Details and directions »

Some Special Thanks
We are especially grateful to Wonder Bar, Virgin HealthMiles, Curran and Berger LLP, Triumvirate Environmental and several local friends and families for holding clothing drives and fundraising events for Second Chances this winter, and we are thankful to our many partners, including those who held clothing drives, coin drives and fundraising events for us last year.

The latest news, events and clothing drive results are updated regularly at www.secondchances.org, so check in often.

Thank you for supporting people in our community through Second Chances. We look forward to seeing you or hearing from you this spring.

Best regards,

Andrea Shapiro
Founder and President/CEO
