Harvard University Graduate Commons'
2009 Clothing Drives for Second Chances

Thank you to all who participated!

Harvard Graduate Commons' clothing drives were a tremendous success! Residents donated 884 pounds of clothing, shoes and accessories in March; 2,262 pounds in May and June; and 325 pounds in August and September to help people in need in our community and support a local nonprofit. This is a huge amount of clothing -- thank you!

We are so grateful to Harvard University Graduate Commons for hosting three clothing drives for Second Chances, and especially to Lisa Valela and Pam Chan for initiating and coordinating these successful drives.

Second Chances recycles all plastic bags and paper packaging from these drives, thanks to the City of Cambridge's Recycling Program.

Other ways you can help
Second Chances is in its fifth year of operation and our needs are still immense. Right now, our biggest obstacle is funding - while we can operate on a small scale with volunteer labor and donated space and materials, we need to raise the funds to staff our program and become fully operational. Second Chances can benefit from financial contributions to support and expand our programs and operations. Financial contributions are 100% tax-deductible.

If you are interested in making a financial contribution, please send it to us separately, do not include it with your clothing donation.
