Second Chances and
Somerville Community Growing Center
Community Clothing and Coin Drive

Our September 2010 community clothing and coin drive was a lot of fun and a tremendous success! Thank you for donating 468 pounds of clothing, shoes and accessories and over $30 to help people in need in our community and support a local nonprofit.

We hope to hold another clothing and coin drive at the Growing Center in the spring. Details as soon as they're available!

Second Chances recycles all plastic bags and paper packaging from these drives as well, thanks to the City of Cambridge's Recycling Program.

Tax-deductibility and documentation of donations
KEEP AN INVENTORY with the type, condition and number of items in your donation. For more information on the tax-deductibility of your donation and documentation requirements, please see IRS publications 526 and 561, or consult with a tax professional.

Other ways you can help
Second Chances is entering its sixth year and our needs are still immense. Right now, our biggest obstacle is funding - while we can operate on a small scale with lots of volunteer labor and donated space and materials, we still need to raise the funds to help the growing number of people in need in our community. Financial contributions are 100% tax-deductible.

If you are interested in making a financial contribution, please send a check to us separately or donate securely online, do not include a financial donation with your clothing. Details »
