Are you hosting a gathering, book club meeting, wedding, birthday, or anniversary party? Why not include a clothing drive or benefit for Second Chances? Ask your guests to bring their used clothing and/or financial contributions, and we will pick everything up from you after the event, or even come to your event to talk about our work. We can provide you with a special webpage and materials to distribute beforehand, including our mission and how to bundle clothing and donations. We can also pick up donations or arrange for you to drop them off after your event.

Do you work somewhere or belong to a congregation or social group that might be interested in holding a clothing drive? We can provide a special webpage and materials to promote the event to your co-workers or members. Do you work for, own, or know the owner of a Cambridge or Somerville business or organization that has some outdoor space and might be interested in hosting one of our clothing donation bins? Please let us know or introduce us. Our 6' x 6' x 6' donation bins have been painted with urban scenes by a very talented group of young people from an area art program - they look just like the bin pictured below. The donation bins will make it easy for community members to recycle their used clothing to benefit the people we serve. They also promote a positive image for the host business or organization. Second Chances will carefully maintain the bins. We will also consider locations beyond Cambridge and Somerville.

Through eBay Giving Works, you can buy designated items or sell nearly anything on eBay and direct all or part of the proceeds to Second Chances to support our work. If you let us know you're selling something on our behalf, we'll happily help with outreach through social media, our website and our e-newsletter if timing permits.

Each year we have a variety of projects for volunteers: picking up clothing donations (just once or several times a year), clearing clothing from attics and basements, providing occasional legal and accounting advice, photographic events, stuffing envelopes, serving on a committee, and much more.
