Donate > Clothing

Your used clothing, shoes and accessories can make a difference in another person's life -- please consider donating what you no longer need to Second Chances.

How to donate

Place your clothing, shoes and accessories in a plastic garbage bag (no hangers, please). We can use just about anything that is still wearable - children's, women's and men's sizes; contemporary or vintage; casual, work and dress styles; clothing, shoes and accessories. We can even make good use of household linens like towels, sheets, tablecloths and cloth napkins. Anything our clients cannot use is either recycled or sold to support our operations.

  • PLEASE do not leave donations outside of our clothing donation bins. If your bag or box will not fit through the opening, empty the contents into the bin.
  • Please send your donation check separately - do not include it with your clothing donation.
  • Information about the tax-deductibility of donations and documentation can be found below.
  • Second Chances presently has extremely limited ability to pick up individual donations. Please use our donation bins in Somerville, Cambridge and Watertown or attend one of our public clothing drives.
