Ways you can help

Volunteer

Second Chances offers many opportunities to volunteer your time or skills. You could:

  • Coordinate a clothing drive at home or work - details »
  • Pick up clothing donations from other donors and deliver them to one of our donation bins (just once or several times a year)
  • Host an online fundraiser via Facebook and/or GoFundMe (search by our EIN: 30-0307254)
  • Provide us with legal, accounting, marketing, or other advice
  • Help with marketing and outreach
  • Serve on a committee
  • and much more.

Second Chances depends on lots of self-motivated, creative, dependable volunteers each year and we're so grateful for the help! Let us know what you'd be interested in doing. Contact us »

Host one of our donation bins

Do you work for, own, or know the owner of a Cambridge or Somerville (or nearby) business or organization that has some outdoor or garage space and might be interested in hosting one of our outdoor clothing donation bins? Please introduce us!

Our outdoor clothing donation bins feature vivid and unique artwork reflecting our work.

The donation bins make it easy for community members to recycle their used clothing to benefit the people we serve. They promote a positive, environmentally conscious, and philanthropic image for the host business or organization. Second Chances carefully maintains the bins. If you have a good location for a clothing donation bin, let's talk more!

Groundwork Somerville volunteers

Thanks to this wonderful group of volunteers, our Groundwork Somerville friends, and Alexis K for sorting and hanging a huge amount of clothing donated by TJX Companies and City Year!
